Who is Neal Smatresk?
Neal Joseph Smatresk, PhD, is an American academic research biologist, physiologist, and university president, who, in February 2014, will become President of the University of North Texas, Denton. He is currently President of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, a position he has held since August 6, 2009. At age sixty-two, Smatresk is in his thirty-second year as an academician in higher education. Twenty-one of those years have been in the State of Texas.
