Who is Nick Hardwick?
Nick Hardwick is Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Prisons. He was appointed to the role in July 2010, replacing Anne Owers.
Prior to this he was the Chair of the Independent Police Complaints Commission, a British organisation which claims to make sure that complaints against the police are dealt with effectively. He was appointed in December 2002.
From June 1995 to January 2003 he was Chief Executive of the Refugee Council. From 1986 to 1995 he was Chief Executive of the charity Centrepoint.
