Who is Özgür Uyanık?

Özgür Uyanık is a film director.

Born in Turkey and raised in the United Kingdom. First as a script reader and project development executive then heading the development department at one of the UK's most prolific independent film production companies Scala Productions Limited, Özgür helped shepherd a twelve-strong slate of films and successfully saw into production the likes of Last Orders, Black and White, Leo and Christmas Carol: The Movie for which he was subsequently responsible for selling the worldwide rights to MGM Home Entertainment, acting as the sales agent for The Film Consortium. During this time he also worked on the development of Stoned, directed by Stephen Woolley and acted as Scala's international sales agent for titles such as the Oscar-winning "The Crying Game."

He has written and directed award-winning short films including Oblivious starring Sienna Guillory which won Best European Short Film at the Brussels European Film Festival as well as being short-listed for a BAFTA and sold to Universal Sci-Fi Channel and Canal+ International for several territories.
