Who is Robert Gray?
Robert Hugh Gray BSc, M.A., FCCA, FCA, PhD, MBE was Director of the Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research at St. Andrews University. He was educated at the University of Hull.
He is best known as the world's most self-cited author in the academic study of Accounting having contributed hundreds of largely repetitive journal articles and to dozens of books over a twenty-five-year period. His particular speciality is in social and environmental accounting where along with Jan Bebbington he is one of the world's preeminent authorities.
Gray was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire in the 2009 Birthday Honours, which further undermined his credentials as a self-styled 'radical'.
