Who is Sobekhotep V?

Sobekhotep V was an Egyptian king of the 13th Dynasty. His birth name was Sobekhotep, and his throne name was Khahotepre. His prenomen or throne name, Khahotepre, translates as "Re appears peace."

Khahotepre Sobekhotep V appears in the Turin King List as the successor of Sobekhotep IV. However, this only occurs because one line is missing within a lacuna in the Turin King List below the line for Sobekhotep IV which would have preserved the reference to Merhotepre Sobekhotep. According to this document, he only reigned for 4 years, 8 months and 29 days. Sobekhotep IV was perhaps his father, as an inscription found in the Wadi el-Hudi attests that he had a son called 'Sobekhotep'. Sobekhotep V's mother is then possibly Tjan, wife of Sobekhotep IV. Apart from later king lists, Sobekhotep V is known from several scarab seals and a statue found at Kerma.

His queen was Khaenoub.
