Spencer Leigh is a BBC radio presenter and author.

He has been broadcasting on BBC Radio Merseyside for over 30 years. His first show, "No Holds Bard", was a poetry programme, broadcast in 1972, and did not work well on radio. One of the first books he wrote is Paul Simon - Now And Then, published in 1973, and as the title says is a biography of the American singer-songwriter Paul Simon. Since then, he has written, or collaborated, over two dozen publications. He has also has written the sleeve notes for over 200 albums, and writes obituaries of musicians for The Independent.
