Who was Stella Kramrisch?
Stella Kramrisch was an American arts historian, who wrote a number of books about Indian art and Hinduism. She was born in Nikolsburg, now Mikulov, in Austria in 1896. She was trained as a ballet dancer growing up in Austria. She obtained her doctorate in philosophy and art in Vienna in 1919 studying under Joseph Strzygowski.
