Who is Sulaiman Sujak?
Air Vice Marshal Dato Sulaiman Sujak was the first non-British Chief of Air Force, Malaysia
Dato Sulaiman studied in Victoria School in Singapore. He was trained at the Malayan Air Training Corps (MATC) - Singapore branch and was the most illustrious among all the cadet trainees there.
In September, 1965, he joined the Royal Malaysian Air Force as a Squadron Leader. On 1 November 1967, he was promoted to Air Commodore and became the first Chief of Air Force. He had to deal with the communist insurgency and Indonesia's Confrontation when he was appointed.
Dato Sulaiman later became the Vice-Chairman of Malaysia Airlines.
