Who was Vijayasree?
Vijayasree was a Malayalam film actress and sex symbol from India in the 1970s. She acted in many movies opposite Prem Nazir.
She gained popularity due to her beauty and was considered as the most beautiful actress in the Malayalam film history. She was a contemporary of the popular Malayalam actress Jayabharathi. Her most notable films are Angathattu, Arumalunni, and Ponnapuram Kotta, the last two films being directed by Kunchacko. In all these films, she starred opposite Prem Nazir. At the end of her career she parted ways with Kunchacko.
She also acted in a number of Tamil films but in supporting roles. She acted as the pair of Sivaji in the film Babu who is killed early in the story. Other notable ones are Deivamagan, Adhe Kangal and Kulavilakku.
She died at a young age, possibly by committing suicide although no cause of death was given.
