Who is Wilfredo Vázquez, Jr.?
Wilfredo Vázquez, Jr. is a Puerto Rican professional boxer. Vázquez is the son of former world champion Wilfredo Vázquez. Vázquez debuted as a professional in 2006, against Octavious Davis in a fight that he won by knockout. Following his debut he fought during five consecutive months, in cards that took place in different districts of the state of Florida in the United States, before extending his scope to Puerto Rico and Mexico. On September 12, 2008, Vázquez won his first professional title, defeating Adolfo Landeros to win the WBO Latino Super Bantamweight Championship. He made three successful regional defenses. On February 27, 2010, Vázquez defeated former world champion, Marvin Sonsona, to win the WBO's Super Bantamweight title. With this victory, the pugilist established several records, both individually and with his father.
