Who was Ambrose Madtha?
Ambrose Madtha was the Roman Catholic archbishop of Naissus and the nuncio to Ivory Coast.
Born in Belthangady, India, in 1955. Madtha studied Philosophy and Theology at St. Charles Seminary, Nagpur and obtained doctorate in canon law from Urban University in Rome. He was ordained a priest in 1982. In 2008 was named titular archbishop and nuncio to Ivory Coast. He was ordained bishop by Jean-Louis Tauran on 27 July 2008.
He had served apostolic nunciatures in Ghana, El Salvador, the Republic of Georgia, Albania and Republic of China.
