Who is Bob Bechek?

Bob Bechek is the worldwide managing director of Bain & Company. He is ultimately responsible for all aspects of the firm’s strategy, team and operations across all worldwide offices. He has championed Bain’s commitment to delivering the best record of client results in the management consulting industry.

Over the course of 25 years at Bain, he has served in a variety of leadership roles, including most recently as head of Bain’s Boston office and, before that, as co-head of the firm's Global Telecom, Media & Technology practice.

Based in Boston, Bob has a long and successful record of helping clients with strategy and other general management challenges. He has particular depth working with significant clients across the high-tech industry and at the intersection of media and technology, but draws upon a variety of cross-industry experience as well.

Prior to joining Bain, Bob was vice president and general manager of AKR Robotics, Inc., a company he started in the US after managing R&D for the parent company while based in Paris, France.

Bob received his MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
