Who is Fazl Ahmad Khan?
Fazl Ahmad Khan, also known as Huzur Maharaj, and commonly with the honorific "Maulana", was an Indian Sufi teacher who was considered to be a saint by his followers. His primary message was that spirituality should be distinguished from religion.
He was born in 1857 at Raipur, Uttar Pradesh. His father was Gulam Hussain, who was a Shaykh and Master in the Order of Maulana Waliuddin of Kashmir, who was also considered by his followers to be a Sufi Saint. Afjal Shah, who was a disciple and Khalifa of Abul Hasan, initiated Khan's mother in the Naqshbandi Order. Khan spent most of his time in Raipur except for a few years when he served in Farukhabad. He lived a very simple and pious life. He was a Sufi saint, who declared and authorized Ramchandra of Fatehgarh as his successor.
