Who is Gene Tiger Sykes?

Gene Sykes is co-chair of Goldman, Sachs & Co.’s global mergers and acquisitions business and chairman of global technology, media, and telecommunications investment banking. He joined the mergers and acquisitions department in New York in 1984 and moved to Los Angeles in 1987. He became a partner in 1992 and was named managing director in 1996.

Mr. Sykes received an AB degree from Harvard College in 1980 and an MBA degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1984.

Mr. Sykes is chair of the board of trustees of St. Matthew’s Parish School and the California Chapter of the Nature Conservancy. He also is a member of the board of the California Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. In addition, he is a member of the board of advisors of Common Sense Media and former chair of the National Parks Conservation Association board.
