Who is John Finnie?
John Finnie is an Independent Member of the Scottish Parliament, representing the Highlands and Islands region.
Finnie was a councillor on Highland Council between 2007 and 2012, representing the Inverness Ness-side ward. He was elected to the Scottish Parliament in the 2011 election.
Finnie resigned from the SNP on 23 October 2012 over the party's decision to support NATO membership for an independent Scotland.
