Who is Juan Zelada?

Juan Zelada is a singer, songwriter and musician from Madrid, Spain.

He is primarily a vocalist/pianist but he also accompanies himself with the acoustic guitar. His first single "Breakfast in Spitalfields" was released on the 4th of July 2011 by Insomnia Music Records and was made Record of the Week by BBC Radio 2. It also made the Radio station's B List and then went on to the A List for 6 weeks. His second single "The Blues Remain" was released on the 31st of October 2011 by Insomnia Music Records and was also named Record of the Week by BBC Radio 2 and introduced to the station's A List.

Juan Zelada has previously released the EP Story of Stuff with Insomnia Music Records in July 2010 and recorded two unreleased albums: What do I know and Pitinga which was recorded in his final year as a student at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

Juan Zelada is a winner of the 2013 European Border Breakers Awards. The European Border Breakers Awards honour the best new music acts in Europe. The award ceremony takes place at the Eurosonic Noorderslag music festival in Groningen.
