Who was Thomas Denton?
Thomas Denton was an English lawyer and politician, a Member of Parliament from 1536 until his death in 1558. He was elected, consecutively, by six parliamentary constituencies: Wallingford, Oxford, Berkshire, Banbury, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Denton and Henry Stafford sponsored the creation of the parliamentary constituency in Banbury. Denton's "electoral mobility" was, most likely, influenced by his speculation in land.
