Who is Éva Dobár?
Éva Dobár is a Hungarian swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. Dobar qualified for the women's 50 m freestyle, as Hungary's youngest swimmer, at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, by clearing a FINA B-standard entry time of 26.26 from the national championships in Budapest. She challenged seven other swimmers on the seventh heat, including three-time Olympians Mariya Bugakova of Uzbekistan and Marina Mulyayeva of Kazakhstan. Dobar took the third spot in her heat by 0.14 of a second behind Trinidad and Tobago's Sharntelle McLean, with a time of 26.33 seconds. Dobar failed to advance into the semifinals, as she placed forty-first out of 92 swimmers in the preliminary heats.
