Who is Alon Bor?

Alon Bor an Israeli percussionist and educator known for his work as principle of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. He was born in 1952 in Tel Aviv. Alon discovered his musical fascination at the age of 5, studying the violin with Isaac Markowitz - one of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra's premiere soloists. Adding the harmonica to his musical endeavours Alon studied with renowned Israeli artist Shmuel Gogol.

Alon's musical interests shifted as he discovered the xylophone studying with Israel Nishri, and expanding his percussion studies with Gideon Steiner, only to finally moving to New-York in order to study with the world renowned Fred Hinger.
