Who is George Hodges?
George James Hodges was a Test match umpire. He officiated in one match between Australia and England in Melbourne on 21 March 1885 to 25 March 1885, comfortably won by England by an innings and 98 runs. Hodges' colleague was Jim Phillips, standing in the first of his 13 matches in Australia.
Some authorities believe that this umpire was John Robart Hodges who played in the first two Test matches.
