Who was Gustavus Adolphus Kempenfelt?

The Atheaeum Magazine of April 1808 records his death;Gustavus Adolphus Kempenfelt was a Swede in the service of the Briitish Army who died in 1808 at Lady Place, Hurley. He was the son of Lietenant Colonel Kempenfelt, who, following the fortunes of James II, was afterwards invited by Queen Anne to the British Army. During the reign of George I Kempenfelt died when he was Governor of Jersey, and is supposed to have been the original "Captain Sentry" depicted in the Spectator by Addison. Gustavus's brother, Richard Kempenfelt was a Rear Admiral who was killed in the Royal George when the ship exploded and sank in Portsmouth Harbour in 1782.Gustavus died aged 87, a bachelor. Amongst other matters of charity, he had personally aided the relatives of those killed in the Royal George.
