Who was Juan Negrín?
Juan Negrín y López was a Spanish politician and physician. He was a leader of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party and served as finance minister. He was the last Loyalist premier of Spain, and presided over the defeat of the Republican forces by the Nationalists under General Francisco Franco during the Spanish Civil War. He collaborated with the Communists until the last minute; he died in exile.
