Kay Mousley
Female, Person
Who is Kay Mousley?
Kay Mousley is the Electoral Commissioner for the Electoral Commission of South Australia. She is the first woman to hold the post and had previously worked for 25 years for the Australian Electoral Commission rising to the head of that agency in South Australia. Mousley was appointed after a recommendation of the Statutory Officers Committee of the Parliament of South Australia.
The electoral commissioner's role is varied but overall ensures that elections are fair and true. Mousley has been involved in the withdrawal of a Liberal-run misleading advertisement put forward by David Pisoni, the Unley candidate, commenting on the birth of electronic voting, and a larger redistribution after the landslide 2006 state election.
