Who was Knud Pontoppidan?

Knud Pontoppidan was a Danish psychiatrist and coroner. He was the brother of writer and Nobel Prize Laureate Henrik Pontoppidan. He was involved in a notable conflict with writer and feminist Amalie Skram in 1895, which received considerable press coverage and had influence on the subsequent treatment of psychiatric patients in Denmark.

In 1891, he published the first article in Danish on homosexuality.
