Who is Lance Oswald?

Lance W. Oswald is a former Australian rules footballer.

Oswald originally played for Wangaratta in the Ovens & Murray Football League. After a standout 1957 season, where he was the league leading goalkicker, narrowly lost the league best and fairest, and represented the league in the country football championships, Oswald was recruited by Victorian Football League side, St Kilda. He played as a roaming centreman for the Saints, and was considered the best in the state in that position from 1960–1961 when he also won two best and fairests. Ian Stewart took over as centreman in 1963, Oswald retired as a player and coached Strathmerton. He was later named on the wing in St Kilda's Team of the Century.
