Who is Peter-Tobias Stoll?

Peter-Tobias Stoll is a German jurist. He is a professor of public international law at the Georg August University of Göttingen.

After studying law at the University of Hamburg, the University of Lausanne and the University of Bonn, he passed the two state examinations for law students and worked as a research fellow at the institute of international law of the University of Kiel, where he eventually earned his Dr. iur. in 1993. Thereafter he started to work at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg until he went through with his habilitation in 2001. During that period he had been a visiting professor at the law school of the University of Minnesota and participated in several international negotiations as a legal consultant on behalf of the federal government of Germany including the federal Foreign Ministry, the federal Ministry of Agriculture and the federal Ministry of Environment.

Since 2001 he has held the Chair of public international law with a focus on international economic law at the University of Göttingen and is member of the advisory board of the Goettingen Journal of International Law.
