Who is Stevie Chalmers?
Stevie Chalmers is a former Scottish footballer who played as a centre forward. He is best remembered for scoring the winning goal for Celtic in the 1967 European Cup Final against Inter Milan.
Chalmers played for 13 seasons for Celtic between February 1959 and September 1971, helping the side to 6 league titles, 3 Scottish Cups and 5 League Cups, as well as being part of the Lisbon Lions side. After leaving Parkhead, he had brief spells with Greenock Morton and Partick Thistle before his playing retirement in 1975.
His career being most successful at Celtic, Stevie Chalmers scored the fourth most goals for the club and is remembered as one of the greatest players ever for Celtic. Chalmers' son Paul would also later play for Celtic. Chalmers' father, David, played for Clydebank.
