Who was Thomas Twyford?

Thomas William Twyford was a Pottery manufacturer in England. He invented the single piece, ceramic flush toilet. He also made infamous Thomas Crapper's toilet. At the time of Twyford's death he was recognized as a leading pioneer in the application of principles of hygiene to sanitary appliances.
