Who is Wilbur Wilde?

Wilbur Wilde is an Australian saxophonist. He rose to prominence with the bands Ol' 55, Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons. He is most famous for appearing as part of the house band on Hey Hey It's Saturday, alongside Red Symons. He also appeared in the 2002 film, Trojan Warrior. Wilde is a supporter of the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League.

In 2006 Wilde represented Hey Hey It's Saturday alongside John Blackman for a celebrity tournament on Temptation and appeared on commercials for the Australian Pensioners Insurance Agency. Also in December 2005, Wilbur joined Vega 91.5fm as the Drive Announcer from 4pm until 7pm. He was with Vega 91.5fm until 2008.

In 2010 Wilde starred as T.V. Evangelist "Brother Jacob" in Pittot Films' neo-noir thriller "City of the Damned" which is due for release late 2010

Wilbur became a household name during his 15-year run as member of the house band on Hey Hey it's Saturday from 1984 through until the last episode in 1999. He has made numerous other TV appearances throughout his career on shows including The Flying Doctors, MDA, The Paul Hogan Show, Blankety Blanks, Sale of the Century, Celebrity Squares, MTV, Getaway, Postcards, Spicks and Specks and The Russell Gilbert Show.
