Who was Wapasha II?
Wapasha was the name of a Mdewakanton Dakota chief.
The son of Wapasha, Wapasha took the place of his noble father as a mighty war chief, in present day Minnesota.
He lost his eye in a game of lacross, some say instead of getting an eyepatch he grew out his hair.
He sided with the United States in the War of 1812 and the Black Hawk War.
